Born in La Plata, Argentina, Gaby’s earliest memories are filled with vivid colors and rich textures—the layered surfaces of nature, the shifting reflections on water, and the delicate movements of plants and  animals. From a young age, painting and drawing became natural responses to her surroundings, serving as a way to both understand and celebrate the world. Her family background, deeply rooted in artistic traditions  through her grandmother’s lineage, offered a supportive environment for her creative pursuits. Early art  lessons with various Argentine artists further ignited her passion.  

At 24, Gaby left Argentina for the United States, carrying with her the inspiration drawn from South American  landscapes and a fascination with the dynamic energy of life. In Chicago, she honed her artistic vision at the  School of the Art Institute, immersing herself in a diverse international community and developing the bold,  gestural painting style that defines her work today. 

Gaby’s paintings explore the space between abstraction and impressionism, marked by thick layers of oil paint and surprising textures—sometimes created with brushes, other times with palette knives, her fingers, or even  marble dust. Influenced by artists such as Monet, Cy Twombly, and Joan Mitchell, she pursues the luminous  dance of color, light, and movement. Nature remains her foremost muse: the intricate rhythms of ponds, the  gentle flow of rivers, and the vibrant ecosystems present in even the smallest natural settings. 

Her creative process is guided largely by intuition. Each painting begins with an initial color or feeling and  evolves as she interacts with the canvas, layering vivid oils to build textured surfaces that echo the tactile  qualities of the landscapes she admires. This spontaneous and fluid approach allows her work to capture the  energy and essence of its inspirations. 

Since making the United States her home, Gaby’s work has been exhibited in galleries such as Gallery Vive in Naples, Florida; Fortunate Discoveries and Springboard in Chicago; Define Art Gallery in Sarasota; and  through the North Shore Art League in Winnetka, Illinois, where she holds membership. Her art is collected  internationally, including in Australia, Italy, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, and South  America. Her paintings invite viewers to explore the ‘in-between’ spaces—neither fully abstract nor strictly  representational—but always deeply connected to the raw beauty of the natural world. 

Beyond her artistic practice, Gaby continues to embrace curiosity and an engaged approach to life. While  parts of her story remain quietly unfolding, her commitment to painting is a steady thread, embodying values of presence, keen observation, and the transformative power of beauty. For Gaby, art is a means of connecting  people to the wonder of existence, encouraging new ways of seeing the everyday miracles that surround us.
